In this topic we explore the critical challenges facing modern Security Operations Centers (SOCs), which currently operate in an "asymmetrical battle" of limited visibility, alert overload, and slow, manual response. Traditional tools like SIEM and SOAR have failed to resolve these core issues due to problems with scalability, cost, and fragmented data.

The solution lies in a shift toward the Autonomous SOC, powered by advanced AI. This future state moves from a "Data Swamp" to a "Data-Driven" approach, leveraging both Generative AI for rapid understanding and, more importantly, Agentic AI for autonomous task execution, prioritisation, and proactive decision-making.

We'll consider a SecOps Maturity Model, how the human role will evolve from triage to supervision and strategic guidance, as well as look at how organisations can begin this evolution through two different appraoches.
